Jobs In The Philippines:How And Where To Find Them Online

How And Where To Find Jobs In The Philippines Online
This page aims to help you look for jobs in the Philippines online. You will find here tips and advice on how to use the internet to find work. We will try to explain to you how you can use all the tools and resources available online to your advantage.

In this modern era, you can't afford to not teach yourself how to utilize the internet to find a job. More and more companies and businesses are exclusively hiring new employees via the internet. How are you supposed to get yourself hired if you can't use a search engine or an online job directory to find these companies and present yourself as a qualified applicant?

The more you know how to navigate the world wide web in search for the right job, the better it will be for you. The tips you will find in this page are very practical and can be done by anyone who can click on a mouse button, type on a keyboard or send an email.

The Very First Thing You Need To Do
Get a professional-sounding email address.
An email address is very important. You must have it. Period. It is the most common and the best way to contact and communicate with your potential employers. Having an email address is not an option, it's a requirement.

Here are a few tips on how you should go about in creating a good email address:
1. There are numerous free email providers out there. The biggest of these are Gmail and Yahoo Mail. You may use any of these two.
2. Make sure your email address sounds professional or shall we say business-like. For example, humantoilet @ gmail.com is a bad address. filipinowriter @ gmail.com is a good address.
3. As much as possible, don't include numbers. Email addresses with numbers on them are very hard to recall not to mention the fact that they don't look too good in a digital resume.

How To Find Jobs in the Philippines Using The Search Engines
The biggest search engines out there are Google, Yahoo, Bing, and Ask. You can use any of these search engines but it's best that you use Google. Google makes use of the best algorithm so you will get the most relevant search results. Also try to use Google Philippines instead of the default Google homepage.

The key to finding jobs in the Philippines online is using the right search keywords. This is actually very easy and simple to do. It's just a matter of typing the name of the job you are looking for and adding the term "philippines" to it. Let's say for instance that you are looking for Philippine call center jobs. You can use the following keyword phrases as your search terms:

* call center jobs philippines
* phillipine call center jobs
* work as a call center agent philippines

If you are looking for a job in a specific location, say a city or province, you can edit the above keyword phrases to one that may read like this: "call center jobs makati philippines".

How To Find Jobs In The Philippines Using Online Job Directories
There are numerous online job directories out there that you can use to find jobs in the Philippines. You have to be careful though when navigating through these directories because there are so many scammers out there. The general rule is that you shouldn't be paying money just to apply for a job. Also, be wary of employers asking for samples of your work whether it's a writing sample, a graphic design sample or a web design sample. Many of these so-called employers are scammers whose only intent is to get your sample and steal it. The best solution to this is to have your own website or blog where you can have these samples published. When an employer asks for samples, you can direct them to your blog or website. There are a lot of free blogging platforms that you can use for this like Blogger, Wordpress, LiveJournal, and Tumblr.

Here's A List Of A Few Of The Directories For People Looking For Jobs In The Philippines
1. Jobstreet Philippines
2. PhilRecruit Online - Directory of Employment Agencies
3. Trabaho.com - The Premier Philippine Jobs Site
4. Craigslist Philippines

Pangagawan Caves In Bolog, Kiangan, Ifugao

The Pangagawan Caves are several caves located in barangay Bolog in the municipality of Kiangan in Ifugao. Not many people or tourists know of the caves because these are still undeveloped but this should change as the municipality continues to promote it as a tourist destination.

The few people who have been to the caves are quick to say that these are at par with the popular caves in Sagada, Mt. Province. One of the most unique features of the Pangagawan Caves is the vertical entrance/opening to the caves. An explorer who wants to get into the cave needs to rappel down 23 meters to get to the cave floor.

Initial exploration of the caves was conducted in 2010.

In December 2012, the municipality of Kiangan received equipment from the office of Ifugao Congressman Teodoro Baguilat Jr. to help explore, discover and promote the Pangagawan Caves. The spelunking equipments turned over to the municipality are worth 250,000 pesos.

How To Get A Police Clearance In The Philippines

Police Clearance Philippines:
This article will show you exactly how you should go about in getting a police clearance in the Philippines. There are a lot of reasons why you would need a police clearance in the Philippines. These include the following:
1. In order to acquire other documents or papers from government offices, i.e. birth certificate, you might be required to show a police clearance.
2. Employers often require job applicants to include a police clearance in the resumes and application papers they submit.
3. It can be used in lieu of an I.D. if you don't have an I.D. to present to anyone asking you for identification.
4. It can also be used as an I.D. when transacting with private institutions like banks and money transfer companies who honor police clearance papers.
Things you must have when applying for a police clearance:

Police Clearance Requirements Philippines:
1. A 2x2 I.D. There is no specified requirement as to how the I.D. should look but it's still best that you go with a white I.D. background. Always remember that you are applying for a police clearance, so make sure that the I.D. photo you submit is appropriate for what you're applying for.
2. A cedula or a community tax certificate. It's not that hard to get a cedula. Just go to your municipal office and ask for one.
3. A barangay clearance. Getting a barangay clearance is not that hard either. Just go to your barangay office, present to them your cedula, and they'll make you a barangay clearance.
4. A 5 by 8 index card. Ask the personnel at the police station where you're getting the clearance what you are supposed to place in the index card. In some cases, the station will provide the index card but you will have to pay for the. They'll cost just a few pesos.
5. Resume or a bio data. This is not a requirement for all police clearance applicants. In most cases, you won't need to present these but to be sure, bring them with you when you apply.
That's it. If you have all of the above, provided that there isn't a line of people at the police station you're applying at, you could get your police clearance within an hour.

Note to male applicants: Please apply for a police clearance with the appropriate attire and haircut. When we say appropriate attire, wear something that's presentable. You don't have to wear a tuxedo or anything. A simple polo shirt with matching pants will do. Also, if you have a beard, shave it before you apply. If you don't, they won't give you your police clearance. It's as simple as that. Now you know how to get a police clearance in the Philippines.

Set Up A Blog Then Monetize It
This website you are currently reading is a blog. I am using Blogger, Google's own blogging platform. However, you won't see the “blogspot” in the URL because I registered and bought my own domain name. It's all up to you if you want to make use of another platform like Wordpress, Tumblr, etc. It is very important however that you get your own domain name. There are so many restrictions if you are not going to purchase a customized domain name. It will be very difficult for you to monetize your blog if it has a URL that goes like yoursite.wordpress.com. For example, Wordpress doesn't allow Google Adsense ads to be placed in blogs with such URLs. So to maximize monetization opportunities, you should buy your own domain name.

How To Monetize A Blog
If you look closely at this blog you are reading right now, I'm using two monetization techniques – Adsense ads and Infolinks ads. The Adsense ads include the links right above every blog post title, the text/image ads right after every blog post title, and the text/image ads in the side bar. The Infolinks ads on the other hand are the words or phrases within the blog posts that are colored green and with dashes under them. If you hover the mouse cursor over these words or phrases, an ad will pop up.

For this blog, Adsense ads perform much better than Infolinks ads. That said, if I were you, I'll sign up and try Adsense first before using Infolinks.

There are so many other ways on how to monetize your blog beside Adsense and Infolinks. The best monetization methods will depend on the nature of your blog, the niche, the traffic source and several other factors.

Here's an overview of methods in monetizing a blog:
1. Display Adsense ads.
2. Implement Infolinks.
3. Sign up with the Amazon Affiliate program and start promoting Amazon products in your blog.
4. Offer advertising space in your blog for interested advertisers. These ads can be in the form of banner ads or links.
5. Display Chitika ads. Chitika is similar to Adsense.
6. Implement Kontera ads. Kontera works just like Infolinks.
7. Display Nuffnang ads. Nuffnang is an advertising program that specifically targets blogs and websites in the Asia-Pacific region.
8. Sell your own products via your blog. For instance, if you have written an ebook, you can offer it for sale in your blog.
9. Use your blog to promote and sell services. If you are a freelance writer, graphic designer, social media consultant, etc., you can utilize your blog gain more clients.
10. Promote affiliate products. Affiliate products are goods that you don't own but you can sell and earn from the sales that you refer. The most popular affiliate programs out there include Amazon, Clickbank, eBay and Commission Junction.

Write And Create Content For Revenue-Sharing Websites
If you are not familiar with revenue-sharing websites, allow me to define them for you. As the term implies, revenue-sharing websites are websites that allow you to publish articles/content in them. In return, whatever revenue your articles will earn will be shared or split with you. Common split ratios are 50:50, 60:40 and 70:30.

The most popular revenue-sharing websites today are Squidoo, InfoBarrel, HubPages, Seekyt, TopicSpotter, Zujava and Wizzley.

Here are short descriptions of the sites just mentioned:
1. Squidoo: Squidoo is one of the pioneers of revenue-sharing websites. It's been around for several years now. Famous marketing expert and author Seth Godin is a co-founder of the site. Squidoo pays its writers via PayPal usually in the 15th of every month. Revenue split is 50:50. However, Squidoo follows a revenue-sharing system that is quite complicated. It makes use of a tier system in determining how much a lens (this is a term used to refer to a page in Squidoo) should be paid. You can learn more about this tier system when you join the site. Click here to register on Squidoo now!
2. InfoBarrel: InfoBarrel is also one of the oldest players in the revenue-sharing arena. Revenue split is 75:25. Click here to register with InfoBarrel now!
3. Wizzley: Wizzley is a new revenue-sharing site. It launched in the middle of 2011 and it's been steadily growing ever since. A lot of writers are earning really good extra income from the site. Wizzley has several similarities to Squidoo with regards to the creation of content, the most prominent of which is the use of content modules. Initial revenue split is 50:50 but this increases as you write more articles in the site. Click here to register with Wizzley now!
4. Seekyt: Among the sites in this list, Seekyt, in my opinion, has the best website design. The design is very well-optimized for ads. It's no wonder that Seekyt has higher Adsense clickthrough rates compared to other revenue-sharing websites. Revenue split is70:30. Click here to register with Seekyt now!
5. Zujava: Zujava is a new site. It was launched in early 2012. The first payouts for its writers were released in the middle of May. And the payouts were very promising. The earning potential is really good. Zujava follows the tier system being used by Squidoo in determining the revenue shares of its writers.Click here to register with Zujava now!
6. TopicSpotter: TopicSpotter is a sister site of Seekyt. If you look at both sites, the similarities are pretty obvious. Just like Seekyt, TopicSpotter has a very ad-friendly website design. Revenue split is 70:30. Click here to register with TopicSpotter now!
7. HubPages: There was a time when HubPages was the most popular revenue-sharing site. But due to algorithm updates by Google, HubPages was among the sites that were negatively affected. The site suffered and so does the earnings of its writers. HubPages is steadily gaining back its old self though. That said, it's still a good place to write for and earn from. Click here to sign up with HubPages now!

How To Encash A Dollar Check In The Philippines

If you are an online worker or if you earn some extra income off the internet, there's a huge chance that you get paid via dollar checks. Some affiliate and advertising programs also pay by checks. Examples of these are Amazon, Adsense, Clickbank and Commission Junction. If you receive a dollar check from these companies/programs or similar sources, how should you encash the check?

The best way to encash your dollar check is to open a dollar account with a bank that offers such service. You can try Banco De Oro or Union Bank. Once you have your dollar account, you can deposit your dollar checks into it. When opening a dollar account, make sure that you have at least $500 dollars with you. Banks require minimum deposits in dollars for said accounts. Union Bank requires a minimum of $500. Other banks reportedly require a lower amount but to be sure, keep at least $500 at hand.

Keep in mind that you cannot encash a dollar check right away after depositing it into your dollar account. It will take some time for the check to be cleared before it can be withdrawn.

What if you don't have a dollar account, is there a way to encash a dollar check without a dollar account? Well, there are some claiming to have done it with Union Bank but I haven't tried it myself so I won't be recommending it. I've also heard of “black market” stuff but I have no idea how this works so I won't be recommending it as well.

It's still best to set up a dollar account with your bank and deposit your checks there.

How to Tip the Captain and Crew of a Yacht Charter

If you are going to a yacht charter vacation, it's best that you understand how the captain and crew of the boat are supposed to be tipped. Keep in mind that they will be there the entire time to ensure that you enjoy every minute of the trip. It's just right that you provide a tip in return for their good work and services. However, it can become confusing with regards to the amount that you should give. How much you give will of course depend on the quality of services but the general rule is that it should be between 10% to 20% of the tab.

It doesn't matter what kind of charter you booked. Whether you're going fishing, sailing, water skiing, diving, or simply sightseeing, it's still but appropriate that you tip the captain and the crew. Keep in mind that just like a restaurant server, some of the members of the crew make their living from tips. Now, you may be confused whether you should tip the captain separately from his crew. The norm is that most captains leave the tips for their crew. They don't usually keep the amount to themselves. With that said, giving the captain a tip may be enough. But if you are still in doubt, it's best that you ask the captain discreetly what you should do. You may think it's awkward to ask the captain such a question but they'll more likely appreciate it if you do.

As to the amount of the tip, there are certain factors that you need to consider. As was mentioned earlier, the rule of thumb is that the amount should be 10% to 20% of the total tab. If the quality of services provided was topnotch, then it's highly recommended that you go for the full 20%. Quality service means you were appropriately welcomed aboard the yacht charter, you were assisted whenever you needed help, the boat has all the necessary amenities, and your safety has always been a priority during the duration of the trip.

There's the chance that your companions will give the captain and the crew tips without you knowing. Thus, it's important that before you board the yacht charter, you should decide who among you should give them tips. This is to avoid the overlapping of tips.

The bottom line is that you should really tip the captain and the crew. If they provided you with everything during the trip, they deserve something as a reward.

Tips in Booking a Yacht Charter

If it's your first time to book a yacht charter, there are certain things that you need to be aware of. You can't just call an agency or broker and ask to rent a yacht. It's not that simple. There's a process that you must follow to ensure that your vacation will go as smoothly as you expected it to be. To help you out, below are some tips on how you should go about in booking a yacht charter.

1) Decide which boat you are going to rent. Do you want a motor yacht or a sailboat? These two kinds of boats has their own pros and cons. In general, yachts are faster and larger so if you have a sizable entourage with you, you might might to pick a yacht. Of course, yachts also exude a bit more luxury so they are often more expensive. A sailboat is nice if you have just a few companions and if you wish to feel the ocean more.

2) Be specific as to the number of people you are taking with you on the boat. When you call a broker or an agent, make sure that you inform them how many people are going with you so that they can make the right estimations and arrangements. Nothing would be more disappointing than arriving at the marina only to realize that the yacht waiting for you can't accommodate you all. Furthermore, you too should identify how many of your companions are children and how many of them are adults.

3) How long will you stay on the boat? Is it a few days, several days, or a week? The amount of time you are going to spend on the yacht will also determine the number of places you will be able to visit.

4) As much as possible, try to book in advance. This is especially important during peak seasons. If you are renting a yacht from a popular destination, it can be hard to book a charter if you are doing it in the last minute. Besides, booking yacht charters are hassle-free these days because you can often do it online.

5) Read the charter agreement twice if not thrice to make sure that you have fully understood it. This is to prevent unnecessary arguments in the future. Pay special attention to the payment terms.

Following these simple tips can make booking a yacht charter a lot easier and faster.

My Trophy Wife: Philippines Movie Starring Derek Ramsay, Cristine Reyes, Heart Evangelista and John Estrada

My Trophy Wife (Philippines) is an upcoming Filipino romantic drama movie directed by Elwood Perez (Lupe: A Seaman's Wife, Tatlong Kasalanan, Yakapin Mo Akong Muli). Viva Films, the production company behind the project described it as a romantic thriller. It's scheduled to be released in theaters in 2014. However, Viva Films is yet to announce a particular release date.

My Trophy Wife is director Elwood Perez's comeback movie. It will be his first major film in over ten years. His last film was way back in 2003 when he directed Ssshhh...She Walks by Night. Although he had a film released in 2013 titled Otso, it was but a small indie so not a lot of people knew about it. With the upcoming release of My Trophy Wife, Perez will likely generate some waves and attract a lot of attention not only from moviegoers but from critics as well. Hopefully, this will open up new opportunities for new film projects.
The Cast:
Cristine Reyes
Derek Ramsay
Heart Evangelista
John Estrada

Here's what some of the cast members have to say about their roles and the movie in general:
“Ako na ‘to, diskarte ko na. I’m going to do a lot of things that I haven’t done in my career. I’m very much open to it now.” - Heart Evangelista

“Maganda ang twist nito. Kaya ko rin tinanggap ito kasi iba ako dito. Kasi sa mga soap ng ABS, medyo mababait ako. But I’m excited here, medyo hirap lang ako sa pagiging masama pero kaya naman. I’ve worked with Heart before sa ‘Hiram’ but with Derek not yet and with Cristine not yet. So I’m excited." - John Estrada

Read the most recent updates about the film in this article. We first reported that Trophy Wife will be directed by Elwood Perez. However, it was Andoy Ranay who eventually directed it.

The Gifted Starring Anne Curtis: a Filipino Movie Which Also Stars Sam Milby and Cristine Reyes

The Gifted is an upcoming horror-suspense Filipino movie directed by Chris Martinez (Here Comes the Bride, Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank). It stars Sam Milby, Anne Curtis and Cristine Reyes. A joint project by Star Cinema and Viva Films, The Gifted is expected to be released sometime in 2014. No specific release date has been announced yet. The script was also written by director Chris Martinez.

On a Rappler article published in August of 2013, Milby said "I guess this is the right time to make a movie again with Anne." It can be recalled that Milby and Curtis teamed up and headlined the 2010 romantic comedy Babe, I Love You. Appearing with them in the film were Megan Young, the late AJ Perez, Guji Lorenzana, Kitkat, Nikki Bacolod and Nikki Valdez. It was directed by Mae Czarina Cruz.

With that said, The Gifted is a reunion movie for Milby and Curtis. However, the two have also worked together in several television shows and series. These include Maging Sino Ka Man and Dyosa. It's also worth noting that the two have been in a romantic relationship although they already broke up.

This is also not the first time that Curtis and Reyes appeared together in a movie. They have previously headlined the romantic drama No Other Woman with Derek Ramsay in 2011.
The Cast:
Sam Milby
Anne Curtis
Cristine Reyes

It was previously reported by some online media outlets that the first choice for the leading man in the film was Dingdong Dantes. However, for reasons that are still unknown, the role went to Sam Milby.

In July of 2013, Curtis posted on her Instagram account a photo of the plaster cast that she might be using in the film. She claimed that a plaster cast of her face had to be taken. She then stated that she was amazed what prosthetics and a makeup team can come up with.
