First Trailer For Hercules Has The Rock Fighting Beasts, Dragons, And Gigantic Boars

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is coming to big screens by the middle of this year wielding a club and sporting a head full of curly hair. As the legendary demigod in the film Hercules, Johnson becomes a sword-for-hire for the King of Thrace and his daughter. King and Princess are in dire need of Hercules' assistance in defeating a ruthless and tyrannical warlord.

The trailer for Hercules has just been released and it has the lead character battling all sorts of beasts from water dragons, lions, and a wild and savage boar which looks like the size of a grown elephant. Directed by Brett Ratner, the film was adapted from a graphic novel titled Hercules: The Thracian Wars. Johnson hold multiple roles in the movie. He also played the parts of Zeus and Achilles (in a flashback capacity only).

It's a decent trailer to say the least. It didn't quite live up to the hype surrounding the film's production. Johnson has screen presence and charisma but this is one of those instances wherein he seems to be out of place. He looks miscast.

Another common source of negative reactions for the upcoming film is the reliance on CGI. They seem to have overdone it. Hercules will hit theaters in the United States on July 25. It will roll into Philippine theaters earlier on July 23. For more information about the movie, visit their website at mightyhercules.com.
